Getting Ready

Oz has a birthday coming up and I can't believe that he is almost one year old. Time has just flown by. He now stands up (holding on to something of course), crawls like there is no tomorrow, and is starting to do word association. By that I mean he now knows that mama and dada are people and not just sounds. The other day Mike left the living room and Oz followed him to the door. We have up baby gates so that is as far as he is able to go. When he couldn't see dada anymore he began calling for him. It was so funny to see him craning his neck around the door frame and yelling "DADA". Soon we will be having a little party here for him. We are expecting only a couple of friends and some cousins. The theme of course is Halloween and we are getting excited for it. I will have to learn how to put some pictures on here so I can post the party. I going to make him a pumpkin cake and I think I will be starting to make it three days before the party. I am hoping that it works out well. On another note, Oz is doing so well in daycare. Today he waved goodbye to me as I left. It was like "okay mom, see ya later, got things to do." I got a little emotional to have him just wave instead of cry for me when I left. I guess it had to happen sometime. I dread him getting to the age where he is embrassed by me in front of his friends.

Daycare Days

Well Oz has been admitted into daycare and has been there for almost two weeks. He has obtained his first real cold and is being a little cranky for the girls at the center. Yesterday he got x-rays done of his hips and right hand. Those of you who know us know that he has a finger that is a little bit bigger than the rest. His doctor is wanting to rule out a genetic disease that could give him problems in the future. He has already gotten blood tests done and on Monday he will be given an ultra sound on his kidneys. Apparently this syndrome they are looking for causes tumors on the kidneys. We are hoping that this is not what he has. In other news, I am still looking for a job and will be going back to Northrop and Grumman in October. I hope that they will hire me so that we can get another income. Mike is still working there and is looking into getting a second job that will help out money wise. So far our life has consisted of baby, school, work, and now daycare. Living conditions are going to change hopefully soon. We have broken down and decided to look for an apartment or townhouse. We are looking at a couple of places but I have to be working first for us to do that. Well that is the short and long of it. I hope that I can keep this up.
